Fun at the Cabin

We had a great time at the cabin last weekend. We took my sister and her family and my parents. We did a little bit of everything, the weather was beautiful and the mosquitoes were scarce. The eat-athon started on Friday and continued until Sunday. Sounds like a weekend at the cabin to me, except the mosquitoes are usually plentiful.

Let the games begin...

No big deal Zay, but your marshmello is on FIRE!

We all love Grandma and Grandpa!

This is what we do with naughty children!

Gotta love snakes!

We made it through the weekend without shooting anyones eye out.

Guess who won the smore eating contest?

Busy Week

It has been a busy week from shopping with the Grocery Guru to spending 3.5 hours, and counting, cleaning up the bottle of hand soap my youngest dumped on the carpet. By the way the Grocery Guru was amazing, I saved over $85 on my grocery bill, no joke! I never would have thought in all my life I would get excited over groceries! We are having a great summer, I wish it could be June every month of the year! I haven't had time to take many pictures this week, but here are a few.

Squaw Peak

This past weekend my hubby ran the Squaw Peak 50 mile trail race. I know, I know, he is nuts! Some how we manage to love him anyway. The race went very well except the 2 hour snow storm during the first part. You can see all of the mud on his legs in the pics. He never ceases to amaze me! From begining to end the race took him approx 12 1/2 hours.

The kids joined Dad to cross the finish line.

Obsession

Once in a while I get something stuck in my head and I can't let it go until I achieve it. My latest obsession was a blanket I wanted to make my baby. I thought it would be sort of easy. Gee, you would think I would have learned by now that making things is not easy.
So finding the fabric I had pictured in my head was next to imposible, but with some help from my big Sis I was able to find it. Then sewing it was another experience all together. In the end I was pretty happy with how it all came together. So far she could care less about the blanket, of course! But I can now let my obsession go....
